TUPELO – Authorities have identified the woman they say hosted a Mooreville weekend party that housed more than 70 underage individuals and the presence of drugs and alcohol.
Angie Floyd, 47, was arrested and charged with violation of the Social Hosting Law and her bond set at $6,000.
Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson said his office first learned of the party from callers who alerted them to postings on social media that gave the location and encouraged people to attend. The ad described a 17th birthday party with a band on County Road 1451 last Friday night.
Under the law, the person responsible can be charged for each underage person found on property. In this case, Floyd was charged six times. Each charge carries up to a $1,000 fine and/or up to 90 days in jail.
